Pohjoinen Kuri

It'll soon be eight years since a group of young men gathered to the old fireworks factory on the northern delta of Lake Tuusula. Their purpose was to play unpredictable and loud music. So they did. In time five acclaimed self-published EPs were released and some tens of gigs were played. At times action was slower and some men were left behind, but new ones soon took their place and progress was never completely halted.

Old repertoire has been left to rest in peace and a New and Improved one been manufactured. The music is still loud and unpredictable. It speeds like a train, occasionally stopping at stations to take on organists and cosmic noise, while leaving off songs already dealt with along with empty bottles. Its terminus is known to no man, and rails are swiftly changed. Emergency brakes are unheard of.

A long time running has gained Pohjoinen Kuri maturity to release their first album, being shaped presently. Producer Aku Rannila is their trusted man in the studio. Only natural aromas and just a pinch of controlled additives are used in recording, and doubly so in production. A rock band does not play to the beat of machines or constantly guard its tuning with meters. Overdubs have been kept to the minimum and the facilities cold, to wind up the band even tighter. The first single will be released February 27th in CD- and online formats. The album will be arriving April 2nd [CORRECTION: So we thought. Release date has been moved to April 23rd, due to printing problems]. It goes without saying, but this won't be the end of it.
